Katherine Heyes

Sports Therapist

Kat is a graduate Sports Therapist with over 10 years of experiencing working within both elite and amateur sport as well as within Private Physiotherapy clinics.

Kat gained her BSc Honours degree in Sports Therapy in 2013 from Leeds Metropolitan University. She later gained her master’s degree in Sports Injury Rehabilitation from the University of Salford in 2018. Kat additionally holds qualifications in medical Acupuncture, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisations, Pre-hospital pitch side medical care in Sport and has previously worked as a Personal trainer.

Kat has a vast amount of experience working with Musculo-skeletal injuries- not just Sports Injuries (despite the title we are given as Therapists). Musculo-skeletal is the fancy term for muscles, bones, joints and adjacent connective tissues. You don’t have to play sport to cause injury to these structures. With 4 years of University studies and over 10 years of hands on experience purely focusing on the Musculo-skeletal system, there isn’t much Kat hasn’t worked with.  Whether its a chronic injury like an achilles tendinopathy or an acute shoulder dislocation needing a personalised rehab program. Kat will work with you and tailor a treatment plan specifically to reach your goals.

Alternatively, you may not be a sportsperson but you’re having that reccurring niggle that effects your day-to-day life; that constant neck and shoulder pain that just makes life difficult! Or you have struggled with chronic back pain that you just can’t seem to get a handle on- Kat will work to get to the root of your problem through a thorough assessment and gaining a full history, then working together to set you on the right path to recovery.

If you’re not sure if Kat can help just call and ask. Sometimes manual therapy and rehab isn't always the best option. If this is the case, Kat will happily help to direct you in a more suitable direction!

“What I enjoy most about my job is the incredible variety of people I get to meet and work with. From working in sport and getting to travel around the country and world, to treating an elderly client recovering from a total hip replacement, who is desperate to get back to her weekly walking group- both bring their own challenges and both just as rewarding!”
